Mecour Thermal Block System
For Constant Temperature Control

Designed to maintain constant temperature across a work-surface, Mecour thermal blocks ensure accurate, precise, and constant heating and/or cooling. By using a critical liquid path that creates a flow-through turbulence, the Mecour thermal blocks uniformly maintain temperature within +0.1°C. Used in conjunction with circulating baths, this unique design has a working temperature range from -100°C to +250°C.

Interchangeable Thermal Block
The open format of the interchangeable thermal block adapts to the work-space footprint and accepts a variety of precisely fitted thermal inserts.
With the thermal inserts one can quickly switch from one plate format to another and quickly change the assay set-up right at the workspace.
The Mecour thermal blocks can be customized for specific footprints and standard thermal blocks are available as single, 2, 3, 4, 6, or 8 position formats that are suitable as stand-alone benchtop units or integrated into automated platforms.
The thermal inserts are placed into the thermal block configuration that works for your assay, and multiple insert types can be used in a multi-position thermal block to create flexible assay configurations.

VolumeCheck scans a 96 well format in 45 seconds and collects liquid level data for each well or tube and is capable of sensing changes in a sample volume in the sub 10µL range, and outputs data in easy-to-use LIMS formats. The Volume Check is also capable of measuring liquid levels in 48 and 24 well formats.
Applications
  • Low or high sample volume detection
  • Sample library management
  • Assay plate quality control
  • QC for assay development and DNA processing
Check Sample Volume In Uncapped...
  • SBS formatted well plates & tube racks
  • Vials or tubes (up to 700mm height)
  • Works w/ water/alcohol/DMSO
How Does VolumeCheck Work?

A calibration plot of the distance of VolumeCheck's sensor to the liquid's volume is generated by preparing a 96 well plate with increasing sample volumes in pre-determined samples wells, columns or rows.
  • The volumes of unknown samples can be analyzed by extrapolation from a calibration plot.
  • VolumeCheck's software provides a method to efficiently collect data needed to develop the sensor distance to volume calibration plot.

Sample Concentrators
UltraVap Sample Concentrator
For fast removal of solvent from 96 well or 384 well plates, the automated UltraVap is the answer.

To optimize evaporation, the microplate stage can be programmed using 3 stages to automatically raise the microplate during the evaporation process and always keep the heated nitrogen slightly above the evaporating solvent.

Touch screen programming prompts the researcher to set plate height, temperature, and gas flow rate for the 3 stages of the evaporation process. The on-board microprocessor can store up to nine different programs. The RS232 Serial Port allows for PC multi-programming and robotics. The UltraVap is available in two models, for 96 well and 384 well plates. With its small footprint, 20cm X 48cm (7.9in. X 18.9in), the UltraVap saves valuable bench space.

In addition to straight needles, the 96 well model is also available with spiral needles. The spiral needles create a vortex of gas flow and aids in the evaporation of the solvent. Straight Needles
